Good morning people who seek to live up to the holy expectation and call of God.
1 Corinthians 1:2 NIV To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours.
The word sanctified means to make holy. This is the call of every believer.
Our holiness does not come from ourselves, although what we do is so important. Paul reminds the church that our sanctification is in Christ Jesus. Indeed, there can be no true sanctification apart from abiding in Christ.
But from that right and unshakeable foundation, we partner with the Holy Spirit in this ongoing process. In the moment of accepting Christ, we were justified by faith.
Now that we are saved, our choices in response to the Spirit’s leading is how sanctification is meant to look. This is not religious – this is right.
We must come into a deeper revelation that we are literally called to be God’s holy people. Please think about this. We are not called to simply escape hell and to be guaranteed a place in heaven. Nor are we called to simply meet Jesus and be content with that.
We are called deeper dear friends – in every way and in every day.
There is not an end to our increasing sanctification and holy transformation this side of the grave.
Godly people align to truth. Godly people pursue God. Godly people respond to the prompting, rebuke and correction of the Holy Spirit.
We are called to be sanctified. We are called to be holy.
