#5522 – Drink Wisely

Good morning people who remain in the position of living blessed in God.

Psalms 1:1 NKJV Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.

The word path here means a road (as trodden); a course of life or mode of action.

The word sinner means a criminal, or one accounted guilty.

The life of a follower of Christ should be evidenced by the reality that we follow Christ.

We are not blessed by standing in and following the same course of life and mode of action as someone who is guilty in the eyes of God.

I thank God that this verse is so clear on truth.

Psalms 1:1 NKJV Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.

The words sits and seat both denote remaining and dwelling.

The word scornful means to scoff.

I think this is a really important one.

A blessed person simply does not hang around with and remain close to someone who perpetually scoffs God and His ways. Unfortunately, I have heard too many Christians who are characterised by mocking what God is doing. It’s not right, and we should avoid them.

It’s time to be careful about who is filling our minds.

It’s time to live a blessed life by drinking from pure wells.
