#5463 – Single Focus

Good morning people who do not stop short of all that God wants to reveal to us.

1 Corinthians 2:2 NIV For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified.

How single-focused are we on knowing Jesus in His fullness?

I am convinced that we live far too distracted in life.

I want to make it clear that not all distractions are bad. I also want to make it clear that I am not saying that we can’t ever relax or do fun things.

But I am simply stepping into this challenging thought myself today:

How single-focused am I on knowing Jesus in His fullness?

Am I satisfied with simply reading the Bible and moving on as if it were just another book?

Am I content to just pray some self-focused prayers when I am in trouble or in lack?

Or do I have a burning passion to truly, fully and deeply know God more?

Does my ‘dispensable’ time reflect a consuming desire to step into greater intimacy with God?

I never want to preach or write legalism, and this is not what that is.

This is a fellow journeyer with you acknowledging an inner yearning to be more intentional and relentless in my desire to know God. This is what the apostle Paul is saying in this verse too.

May we all become those burning ones in a holy pursuit of God.
