Good morning people who have been freed from the control of sin and slavery.

Exodus 20:2 NIV “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.”

This is the truth about God when it comes to us as His children.

The context of this verse was God speaking this just before He gave Moses and the children of Israel the ten commandments. The timing and order are significant.

God did not give ten commandments and then say, “If you obey all of these perfectly, I will bring you out of Egypt; I will bring you out of slavery and into freedom.” It was not a condition for entering into freedom.

God gave the ten commandments to His children whom He had already freed from slavery! This is a game changer for some of you today.

The spiritual reality is, we are freed because of what God has done. That’s it. As we partner with this truth, we enter into freedom.

And now that we are free, we choose to live in accordance to God’s Word. The result for living this way is we get to enjoy the reality of this freedom in our everyday lives. Our relationships have the potential to flourish as we live in the freedom for which Christ has set us free.

The Lord says to you today: “I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.”

It’s time to live in freedom because of Christ.
