#5319 – God’s Comfort

Good morning people who see the wonderful hand of God at work.

Psalms 23:4 NIV Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

God’s rod is God’s protection and God’s staff is God’s direction. Both bring indescribable comfort to the people of God.

Regardless of what we have done, there is redemption available to every person who repents. This is wonderful news.

But oh what a joy to have the Spirit of God protect us from going down Satan’s path of destruction in the first place!

And this is tied to God’s divine direction in our lives. Again, prevention is better than cure, and God keeping us from evil is even better than God rescuing us out of evil.

Yes, we have all fallen short and need to be redeemed. Praise God for His goodness!

But once redeemed – once saved – I believe that God’s desire is to protect and direct us in such a way that we live empowered to make godly choices every day.

It’s this spiritual truth that brings me comfort.
