Good morning people who love God’s Word and love the God of the Word.
Psalms 119:2-3 NIV Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart— they do no wrong but follow his ways.
Keeping rules is not God’s primary objective for our lives. We just need to look at what Jesus repeatedly said to the Scribes and Pharisees to see this clearly.
I am not saying that obeying God’s Word is not the right thing to do. In fact, I am saying the opposite.
What I am saying is, that obeying God’s Word must include the most important command – loving God with everything – and this can only happen when we seek Him with all of our heart.
The purpose of the Bible is not primarily to know how to live, but it is to know Life Himself.
And so, to the many who pride themselves on being good, my questions to you are these:
How much do you seek, know and love God Himself?
How much attention and affection does God get from you?
Does your reading, meditation on and handling of God’s Word give evidence to God being the very breath you breathe and life you live?
