Good morning people who produce fruit for the glory of God the Father.
John 15:16 NIV “You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.”
We didn’t choose Jesus, He chose us. This is always the right starting position for us and God. He is the initiator and we are the responders.
And according to this scripture, He chose us for a twin purpose.
Firstly, Jesus chose us and appointed us so that we might go and bear fruit.
We are not saved just to be safe. Being comfortable is not what we signed up for. Being blessed by Jesus in the choices that we want to make is also not what we signed up for.
Jesus came to earth and produced incredible fruit – eternal fruit – due to His connection with His Father and with the Holy Spirit. We are called to live the same way. And remember, fruit is the result of abiding, not striving.
Secondly, Jesus chose us and appointed us so that whatever we ask in His name the Father will give us.
Jesus asked for many glorious things while He walked this earth – including healing and salvation – and His Father gave it to Him. Why? Because of His relational connection with and His submission to His Father.
Jesus asked in alignment with His Father’s will, and herein lies the key for us. Dear friends, this is how we too are called to live!
It’s time for increased fruit and increased faith!
