#5149 – Greater God

Good morning people who dig below the surface to see what God is saying.

John 14:30-31 NIV “I will not say much more to you, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold over me, but he comes so that the world may learn that I love the Father and do exactly what my Father has commanded me. “Come now; let us leave.”

As I am reading this scripture, the sentence structure is a little confusing to me. When this happens, sometimes I just go onto the next verse and keep on going. Sometimes I dive deeper, and that’s what I want to do today with you.

I felt to see what God was saying by looking at some other translations. I know that some of you may struggle with this as some feel only certain versions of the Bible should be used.

I don’t want to debate this with you, but rather, I want to encourage you to go deeper in God.

One of the ways I believe we can do this is through reading different versions of the Bible. Never forget, God can speak through a donkey – and through you – so speaking through a different version of the Bible is not a big stretch for God.

So, allow the God of mystery to reveal truth about Himself to you today from His Word:

John 14:29-31 MSG “I’ve told you this ahead of time, before it happens, so that when it does happen, the confirmation will deepen your belief in me. I’ll not be talking with you much more like this because the chief of this godless world is about to attack. But don’t worry—he has nothing on me, no claim on me. But so the world might know how thoroughly I love the Father, I am carrying out my Father’s instructions right down to the last detail. “Get up. Let’s go. It’s time to leave here.”

John 14:30-31 TPT “I won’t speak with you much longer, for the ruler of this dark world is coming. But he has no power over me, for he has nothing to use against me. I am doing exactly what the Father destined for me to accomplish, so that the world will discover how much I love my Father. Now come with me.”

God is greater than the devil! And Jesus loves to do His Father’s perfect will. This is our God.
