#5144 – The Peace of Jesus

Good morning people who live in peace from the words of Jesus.

John 14:27 NIV Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Before Jesus left His disciples, He promised to leave His peace with them. This was a gift from Him; He promised to give His peace to them.

He then went on to clarify that His peace is different to the peace that the world gives. He connected this statement with an instruction to not let their hearts be troubled or afraid.

What is Jesus saying here?

Context is important, so we need to read the words that Jesus said just before this.

John 14:25-26 NIV “All this I have spoken while still with you. But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

The peace that Jesus longs to give us comes from and is inseparable to His words. Oh, reveal this truth to your people today Father!

The world’s peace is circumstantially based. The world’s peace comes from the absence of problems, challenges and difficulties. The world’s peace comes from understanding and eliminating questions and confusion.

This is not so when it comes to the peace of Jesus!

We step into the freely given peace of Jesus (who is the Prince of peace) by listening to and being led by the Holy Spirit as He teaches us all things and reminds us of everything that Jesus has said! It’s this simple! It’s this real! This is the truth from the Truth!

Meditating by the Holy Spirit on the truth of God’s Word is where the peace of God is found.
