#5123 – Jesus Asks a Question

Good morning people who step towards the Father through Jesus His Son.

John 14:7-9 NIV “If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.” Jesus answered: “Don’t you know me, Philip, even after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?

It’s a very interesting statement Jesus makes, especially in the context of everything that He is saying. He is asking in a questioning way, “How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?”

The question is not “Why?” The question is “How?”

In other words, “How is it possible that you don’t see the Father in Me?”

Also, “How is it possible that you don’t yet see that My Father is the destination and the reason why I came?”

Having our sins forgiven and having an assurance of eternal life – both here and now, and forever and ever – is absolutely wonderful. Jesus made this possible! Hallelujah!

But He would say to us all today, “Don’t stop at just being saved. You need to know and see My Father. This is why I came. Don’t stop short! Don’t miss out on Him!”
