#5110 – The Father’s House

Good morning people who have been given eternal life.

John 14:2 NIV My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you?”

Jesus told His disciples that salvation is the doorway into eternal life. The focus then and now is not primarily for a better life on earth, but for a heavenly eternal home with the Father.

When Jesus talked about His Father’s house, He was talking about where His Father dwells; His residence. And when He was taking about the many rooms in this place of His Father’s residence, He was also talking about many dwellings; places of residence.

Here’s what Jesus was saying: My Father has a place of residence and there is plenty of room for others to have their residence with Him. This is too glorious for human comprehension!

Once again, Jesus did not describe this residence as His residence, but as His Father’s residence. Of course Jesus lives there, but it is rightfully His Father’s house.

One day, every believer will be welcomed home to live in our Father’s house; the place where He dwells. Oh what a wonderful day that will be!

You have a place waiting for you with our Heavenly Father. He created you to spend eternity with Him. He desires this with a supernatural desire. He longs for this and yearns for this. His heart is completely for you and He wants you to live with Him forever.

This is why He sent His Son Jesus. Through believing in Jesus as the Son of God who lived, died and rose again, we have a confidence that we have eternal life; living where our Father lives forever. This will be our home.
