#4947 – Full of Grace

Good morning people who live in the empowerment of the Holy Spirit.

Colossians 4:6 NIV Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Again, the primary context of this verse is Paul’s exhortation to preach Jesus at every opportunity, and to do so wisely, in a way that maximises the potential for people to receive the message through our lives and our lips.

Grace is the empowerment of God to live as we ought. We must not overlook the empowerment of God as the central reality of grace – this is what it is!

When we talk to others about Jesus, it needs to be full of grace. This means, our words need to be empowered by and authored by God. The Holy Spirit is longing for and looking for people to accurately reveal Jesus through. He does this work, not us, but He does it through yielded vessels. That’s who we are called to be.

Many Christians are like Jeremiah and Moses. These men whom God chose to use to deliver His message tried to talk themselves out of usefulness by saying that they didn’t know how to speak. We often do the same.

But listen to Paul’s words again: Let your conversation always be full of grace; full of the empowerment of God!

Keep yourself saturated in God’s Word, in harmony with the Holy Spirit, and looking for opportunities to talk about Jesus.

If you will say YES to God, He will fill your mouth.
