#4931 – Teach and Admonish

Good morning people who walk with others in a way that Jesus is clearly seen.

Colossians 3:16 NIV Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.

Whether you are a preacher of the gospel or a friend who is walking with another friend, I pray that our conversations are in line with the truth in this scripture.

When we need to teach and admonish someone, let’s do it from the foundation and saturation of the message of Christ.

Let our main focus not be on what the other person has done or what they need to do, but on the truth of who Jesus is and on all that He has done for us. Let His life guide our conversation.

And that leads me to the next point.

When we need to teach and admonish someone, let’s do it with all wisdom.

Let’s let the Holy Spirit who is the Spirit of wisdom, lead us in what to say and when to speak. Let His words be what comes out of our mouth. Let Him reveal the Father’s heart and may we be mature believers who make this the main focus over what we think needs to be fixed in another person.

As John the Baptist rightly said:

John 3:30 NKJV He must increase, but I must decrease.

May every conversation be more about the Lord and less about us and others.
