Good morning people whose life becomes the very dwelling place of God.
Colossians 2:6-7 NIV So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.
Our roots are to be in Christ. This is, He is our foundation. God is who we are planted into. He is our source; our very life. He is the Alpha; He is our start.
Receiving Christ as our saviour starts our connection into Him. This is oh so glorious, and it’s this that determines our eternal destination.
But we are also instructed to be built up in Him.
Have you ever seen a construction site where the foundation has been laid. Then you drive past it again months later, and it is still a foundation. Years go by, and nothing else has happened – there stands a foundation and nothing more.
What do you think?
Well, you don’t think, “That’s an incredible foundation!” No, you wonder what happened. You wonder why something was started only to be stopped. You might even think about the magnificent building that was obviously the architect’s intention, and you wonder what happened to cause the building process to stop altogether.
As believers, the doorway of being rooted in Christ through believing in our heart and confessing with our mouth is like that foundation. It is vital, because without it, no building can be built and no building would ever last.
But it is intended to be a foundation for a building to be built. Salvation is the foundation for every believer to be built up in Christ; to grow from glory to glory; to be transformed into His image and into His likeness.
Are you being built up in Christ?
