#4890 – Disciplined People

Good morning people who put order into your day so that you don’t drift.

I hear the Lord say, “Discipline is not a bad word.”

Colossians 2:5 NIV For though I am absent from you in body, I am present with you in spirit and delight to see how disciplined you are and how firm your faith in Christ is.

Because we accurately want to live in the realm of delighting in God, being disciplined can get a bad and wrong reputation.

Let me be clear: Any successful person in any area of life is disciplined, including kingdom-advancing men and women of God!

Warriors of God spend time with the Lord when distractions are all around them.

Warriors of God are disciplined to say YES to the Spirit and NO to the flesh, even when they are weary and “can’t be bothered.”

Warriors of God commit to time in God’s Word, even when it seems dry and they are not hearing God’s voice like they would like to.

Warriors of God understand being disciplined as they read the continual exhortation of scripture to persevere, to not grow weary, to not shrink back, and to put off the things of the flesh and to put on the things of the spirit.

Godly people are disciplined people who delight in God Himself.
