#4881 – For Each Other

Good morning people who work hard for what honours God.

Colossians 2:1 NIV I want you to know how hard I am contending for you and for those at Laodicea, and for all who have not met me personally.

Paul continues his words that we looked at yesterday by restating how hard he was contending for the people God had called him to love and serve.

And this is what leaps off the page at me today: Paul states that he was focused on contending for people, not against people or even against things.

Terribly, some “Christians” have taken up the non-God-assigned task of contending against other brothers and sisters in the body of Christ – this is their mission. They do so from the place of being a “gatekeeper”, but most (if not all) are simply doing the devil’s work and calling it a ministry.

God is for us and it’s time for believers to be for each other. I know that there are some wolves that we need to be aware of, but this is less than some would have us believe.

I love my Dad’s statement about this: “In the body of Christ, there are not many heroes and there are not many villains. But rather, there are many wonderful people who are doing their best to know God and to do what He has called them to do.”

I agree.

And so I want to join the apostle Paul and be one who is known for contending for my brothers and sisters in Christ – all flavours, all types, and all those who sincerely accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour.

Will you join me?
