#4837 – Guard Your Eyes

Good morning people who give your attention to what is right.

Proverbs 4:25 NIV Let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you.

Much like an arrow shot by an archer, our life follows what we are looking at.

When it comes to our sight, we need to avoid distraction.

Hebrews 12:2 tells us where to look, and it does so by telling us where Jesus looked:

Hebrews 12:2 NIV Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Our sight must not be satisfied with the here and now, but we are to keep our eyes on our eternal God and our eternal future with Him.

This doesn’t render us powerless or useless in this life – not at all. In fact, it is the right fuel to keep us on track with God’s divine purpose.

It’s a masterful plan by our masterful God!
