#4795 – Psalm 23

Good morning people who dive into the deeper truths of God’s Word.

Psalm 23 is one of the most well-known scriptures in the bible. People quote it often, including many who have no faith in Jesus Christ or relationship with the Father. It’s recited frequently at special occasions, and it brings some comfort in difficult situations.

But it is much more than just a well-known scripture!

I have written on this chapter before in BIY (more than once I think), and I have also quoted from it while preaching many times.

Yet, there is a very strong pull in my spirit from the Holy Spirit to look again and to lean in more deeply. He is inviting me into a greater revelation of the truth. And so, I’m diving in – deep – and I invite you to join me.

Let’s look to see what the Spirit is saying to us as the church, as God’s people, and as God’s precious friends.

Today, let’s just read and meditate on it, and let’s see where God leads us tomorrow.

Psalms 23:1-6 NIV The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
