#4731 – God is True

Good morning people who fix your attention on Alpha

Philippians 4:8 NIV Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.

Did you know that the word true in this verse comes from the first letter in the Hebrew language and it means alpha’?

This is very interesting and something I have never seen before. As I meditate on it today, this little bit of insight takes what the Holy Spirit is revealing through Paul’s writing to a greater level of clarity.

This word also means truth, this is undeniable. But it is truth that finds its origin in Alpha; in the First; the Original; the Everlasting.

We are told to think on what is true, not on what is factual, or on what we feel. This further highlights the statement that has been made many times, and that is, truth is different to facts.

So, my simple place of meditation where I find myself today is this: I need to think about what is true, and what is true is who God is and what He has declared about a thing.

May we know the truth, and may the truth set us free.
