#4614 – Heir of Righteousness

Good morning people who enter into all that God wants to give you

Hebrews 11:7 NIV By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.

By faith, Abel was commended as righteous because of the offering that he brought the Lord.

By faith, Noah became an heir of righteousness, because of his holy fear and his obedience to what God had said.

Let’s look at the word heir for a moment.

An heir is ‘one who receives their allotted possession by right of sonship’.

I love this verse that is a promise to God’s sons and daughters today:

Romans 8:17 NIV Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

In Christ, and through our faith-filled obedience to Him – even when suffering is involved, like it was for decades as Noah laboured to physically build an ark – we enter into the life of Christ and the righteousness that is found in Him!

Righteousness means, ‘the state of one who is as they ought to be, the condition acceptable to God.’

This is what our faith-filled obedience produces; being acceptable to God!
