What is faith?

Faith is confidence in what we hope for. Let’s unpack this.

In this verse, confidence means: ‘a setting under (support), concretely, standing under’.

Faith is a foundation for our lives, not a feeling that we experience.

The word hope here means: ‘to expect’.

Faith is my foundation of what I expect to happen.

How do we have this kind of faith?

By having it in God – not in results or outcomes, or even in answers to prayers.
