Good morning people who empower others along the right path
I believe we are called to direct people, not squash them.
Let me explain what I mean by directing people. I don’t mean bossing them around and commanding them to do what we want them to do. What I do mean is bringing clarity when there is confusion and direction when there is dysfunction. This is about being part of the answer, not part of the problem.
Many times this is needed in people who are passionate, yet they are misguided in their passion. Too often we squash the passion in people who are offtrack, rather than redirect them and actually empower them to be passionate about the right things.
If we are going to do this better, we need to improve at hearing the words but listening to the heart, and seeing the action but picking up on the motivation.
Saul of Tarsus was a total fanatic and zealot for the cause of God. This included passionately persecuting anyone who followed Jesus. He didn’t need his passion squashed – he needed it redirected.
And so it is true in our lives and the lives of those we come into contact with. I believe you are called to prophetically redirect people towards the plans and the purposes of God without squashing them. Oh how we need the wisdom of God to do this well.
