#4294 – Don’t Be Silent

Good morning people who live enough to speak up when sin is nearby

Genesis 3:6 NIV When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

Adam was with Eve when she ate, yet he kept silent.

Don’t be a silent partner when sin is crouching at the door.

Men, it’s time to man up!

Why didn’t Adam tell Eve not to eat the fruit?

Man was made in the image of God, and God doesn’t violate free will. Adam didn’t violate Eve’s free will either…but he too gave into temptation and ate the fruit.

Did Adam eat the fruit to please his wife?

Was pleasing (or appeasing) his wife more important to him in that moment than obeying God?

The following verse would indicate this was so. It would also indicate that, like us many times, we blame God for our choices because of the desires and gifts He gave us:

Genesis 3:12 NIV The man said, The woman you put here with me—she gave me some fruit from the tree, and I ate it.”

May our lives empower others to obey God.
