#4254 – Free from Sin

Good morning people who live submitted to God

Have you ever found it difficult to live in freedom from the power of sin? I have. In fact, I still wonder at times why it is so difficult to do the right thing…I wish it was easier! I know many of you agree with me.

Like me, you probably need to be reminded of the truth of living life God’s way. I don’t know that it is meant to be easy, but it is possible and there are certain keys to living in freedom from sin.

Romans 6:10-14 NIV The death He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life He lives, He lives to God. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to Him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master, because you are not under law, but under grace.

We choose who our master is. I’ve decided it’s going to be Jesus Christ, not myself and my own desires. How about you?

I see intentionality in these verses. It says do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Don’t let it be that way. This clearly shows us it’s our choice. I think this is a vital part of the process; accepting it is always our choice…and we can make the right choice every time.

Is it always easy? No! But it is possible.

We need to intentionally do the opposite: We need to actively offer the parts of our body to Christ as instruments of righteousness. Maybe we need to wake up each morning and pray something like this:

“Father, today I choose to live for you! I choose righteousness and I offer myself to You fully. Let me choose Your way in every situation. I ask for Your help in Jesus Name”.
