#4163 – Master Craftsman

Good morning people gifted by God

Sometimes there is a false belief that God is more interested in those who appear to have the more spiritual gifts. There is a thought that those in full-time ministry are more important than those with more natural gifts and abilities. I’m not sure where this thinking comes from but it’s wrong.

You are called by God. God wants to fill you with His precious Holy Spirit and He wants to empower you to excel at what you are gifted to do. It’s important and you need to do it well.

Exodus 35:30-35 Then Moses said to the Israelites, “See, the LORD has chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah, and he has filled him with the Spirit of God, with skill, ability and knowledge in all kinds of crafts – to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze, to cut and set stones, to work in wood and to engage in all kinds of artistic craftsmanship. And he has given both him and Oholiab son of Ahisamach, of the tribe of Dan, the ability to teach others. He has filled them with skill to do all kinds of work as craftsmen, designers, embroiderers in blue, purple and scarlet yarn and fine linen, and weavers – all of them master craftsmen and designers.

These guys were filled with the Spirit of God and as a result excelled in all of their work. This is great and this is the way it should be. You should excel in your job. The key is we need to stay submitted to the work of God and the direction of the Holy Spirit in every situation.

These guys not only excelled at what they did, they taught others how to do what they were doing and excelled at that too. These guys were master craftsmen and designers. We need some more people like this in the secular marketplace and maybe you are called to be one of them.

The Spirit of God does not just empower us for spiritual things but for all of life. You are filled with the Spirit to excel in all you do.
