#4147 – Ate and Drank

Good morning people who want to know God better

My passion in life is to know God better and as a result reflect God more.

You see I believe God is a lot different than we think. I think if we saw God as He really is many of us would be surprised. I think there are many facets of God and they are all incredible.

Here’s something I’ve just seen that makes me consider a different aspect of God.

Exodus 24:9-11 Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel. Under His feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire, clear as the sky itself. But God did not raise His hand against these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and drank.

They saw God and they did what? They ate and they drank. This leaves me with more questions than answers…maybe that’s what it should do.

What does this say to you about God? Does this mess with your picture of what God is like?

I would dare say many of us would be like John in the Book of Revelation if we saw God.

Revelations 1:17a When I saw Him, I fell at His feet as though dead…

Hmmm maybe we can’t box God in? Maybe He doesn’t do the same thing every time? Maybe our responses will be different from each other? Maybe sometimes we feel overwhelmed in God’s Presence and other times we feel comfortable and relaxed?

I like thinking about what God is like and seeing new things in His Word about Him. How about you?
