#4117 – Step Out

Good morning faith-filled people

There is a fine line between presumption and procrastination.

We need to hear from God. Many people live only with an “answered prayer” philosophy of hearing from God. This is indeed essential; we must be hearing from God and believing for God to speak specifically into our situation. But I believe there is a level of hearing God that is not just “answered prayer” focussed, but “ongoing communication and dialogue”. This is a level of “just being together and enjoying chatting”. Maybe God wants to take you more into this level today.

When we are living in this deepening level of communication, sometimes God doesn’t want us to just wait but to step out in faith, knowing that God is with us and working through us. I believe this is a specific word for some today. Listen to what this verse spoke to me.

Exodus 14:15 Then the Lord said to Moses, “Why are you crying out to me? Tell the Israelites to move on.”

We need to remember all the miracles that God had already performed through Moses. Clearly God was with Him and moved through Him. This may have been a statement from God to direct Moses to the truth that he was the appointed man who was following God and that sometimes we need to step out in faith without seeing the writing on the wall or having a “Thus says the Lord”.

Maybe God expected Moses to step out in faith and make something happen.

Maybe He expects us to do the same.
