#4034 – God’s Righteousness

Good morning people who are acceptable to the Father through the Son

2 Corinthians 5:21 NIV God made Him who had no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God.

Our righteousness is always in God.

Here’s a challenging statement Father made to me recently:

“If we don’t receive and live in Christ’s righteousness in us when we do the wrong thing, then we are probably not living in it when we do the right thing. Our righteousness is always in Christ, not in ourselves.”

It’s never “our righteousness” that pleases God.

When we are good, we are not good enough.

Isaiah 64:6 NIV All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.

This is not bad news, it’s just the truth. This is why we truly need God always, for everything.

If you are in Christ, you are righteous because of Christ.

Sure, if you sin, repent and receive mercy, but don’t live disqualified because Jesus qualifies you!

Conversely, if you feel like you are doing ok, don’t think that you can ever be good enough to qualify yourself to God.

It’s always in Him that we are able to stand righteous before the Father.
