Good morning people who have a holy and right reverence for God

Psalm 25:12 NIV Who, then, are those who fear the Lord? He will instruct them in the ways they should choose.

As I read this short verse, I felt prompted to look at the Hebrew meaning of some of these words. As I did, Father started to take me into the richness and depth of what He wants us to see. So, let’s meditate on this for a few days.

God has not given us a spirit of fear (2 Timothy 1:7), yet the Bible repeatedly talks about ‘the fear of the Lord’.

In our desire to both correctly handle the Word of God and also to lead people lovingly towards God, we have made the meaning of ‘the fear of the Lord’ to only mean ‘reverence for God’.

But I don’t think this is what God is saying.

Yes, it absolutely is about reverence for God. This is something that needs to greatly increase in the world and the Church today. But it is also connected to a right and holy fear of God.
