#3587 – Testimony of Jesus

Good morning people who place greater weight in Jesus than in themselves

Revelation 1:1-2 NIV The revelation from Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending His angel to His servant John, who testifies to everything He saw – that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

We talk a lot about ‘our testimony’.

For some, it appears your testimony is more powerful because of the ‘out there’ sinful lifestyle that Jesus has saved you out of. I celebrate with every person who was in deep darkness and God has miraculously saved into His incredible light!

For others, you feel your testimony is somewhat less, because, although you weren’t a Christian, you were a pretty good person. Or maybe you grew up in church, and at a young age, you accepted Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour. Either way, you don’t feel like you have ‘one of those’ testimonies.

Well, according to Revelation 1:1-2, the testimony that really gets Father’s attention is our testimony of Jesus Christ.

The magnitude of our past sins is not our testimony – the magnitude of the tender mercies of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, is our testimony!

Sometimes I am uneasy about the focus of ‘my past’ in people’s testimonies. Now if it points to the grace of God, PRAISE GOD, but it if points to us, I think the focus needs to shift.

Today, I want to celebrate Jesus Christ and His love for sinners who need love, grace, mercy, forgiveness and new life! Today, I want to testify about the goodness of God; today, I want to testify about the God of Goodness!
