Good morning people who follow Jesus when they don’t want to

Yesterday, I finished BIY with these questions:

“Are you truly a follower of Jesus? How about when He gives an instruction that is different from what you want to do?”

As I typed the last question, I felt the following challenge come strongly:

If God never gives us an instruction that is different from what we want to do, then we are not truly following Jesus.

I don’t always want to forgive people who hurt me, but a follower of Jesus forgives others like Jesus has forgiven them.

I don’t always want to step out of my comfort zone and tell that stranger what Father has whispered to my heart for them, but a follower of Jesus obeys God’s leading.

I don’t always want to keep my mouth shut when I know it’s the right thing to do, but a follower of Jesus is quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to get angry.

Followers follow, that’s what they do.

“Is there something that God’s Word or God’s Spirit has told you to do that you have not yet done?”

Today is the day to follow Jesus.
