Good morning people who live in alignment with what they say

Matthew 7:26-29 MSG “But if you just use My words in Bible studies and don’t work them into your life, you are like a stupid carpenter who built his house on the sandy beach. When a storm rolled in and the waves came up, it collapsed like a house of cards.” When Jesus concluded His address, the crowd burst into applause. They had never heard teaching like this. It was apparent that He was living everything He was saying—quite a contrast to their religion teachers! This was the best teaching they had ever heard.

This passage clearly shows that knowledge is not the ultimate objective in studying and knowing the Bible.

I believe that intimacy with God is the greatest objective of us knowing and studying the Bible.

Second to that is life transformation and empowerment to live as Christ called us to live.

I love the little phrase in the first sentence of this passage that says ‘work them into your life’. Sometimes – many times – it takes a lot of work and a lot of effort to live a godly life. I absolutely know that we are changed by the Spirit of God, but that does not do away with the reality that we still need to continually make wise and godly decisions.

Jesus is our example, and one of the things this passage highlights is that ‘it was apparent that He was living everything He was saying’. In other words, people noticed the congruence of His life. This is integrity. This is godliness.

And this is how we are called to live to.
