Good morning people who have the nature and character of God

Genesis 3:6 MSG When the Woman (Eve) saw that the tree looked like good eating and realized what she would get out of it—she’d know everything!—she took and ate the fruit and then gave some to her husband (Adam), and he ate.

It’s all too easy to live for what we can get out of something, or dare I say it, out of someone. Yet this is not God’s example to us, nor His instruction to us.

John 3:16 is possibly the most well-known Bible verses, and in it, we see the heart of God and His nature and character – He loves, therefore He gives, His best, for us.

Self-seeking often equates to self-destroying. Sure, the ‘fun’ and even ‘fame’ may endure for a time, but it cannot and will not end in any other way than destruction. The reason for this is, it is against God’s design and pattern.

Here’s what I feel in my spirit today:

Don’t make decisions based on what you can get out of it, but on what God has said, and on what you can give.

Love gives, and it gives ‘just to give’, not to get.

May we all follow the example of God, and not the pattern of the world.
