Good morning people who are forgiven by a perfect God Who loves deeply

Psalm 25:6-7 NIV 6 Remember, LORD, Your great mercy and love, for they are from of old. 7 Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to Your love remember me, for You, LORD, are good.

One of our greatest obstacles to walking in the freedom for which Christ set us free, is remembering things we have done wrong in the past. Sure some of them were before we met Christ, but some of them were after we encountered Perfect Love.

This Psalm is written by King David. I don’t know about any sins he committed when he was really young, but I do know about some pretty serious sins he committed as a man who loved God.

I believe David is a great example to us all in this verse.

Let’s be people who ask God to forgive us, then let’s allow God to remember us according to His love, not our sin. As David said, “You, Lord, are good!”

Once repented of, God doesn’t remember the sins of our youth, but the eternal reality of His love and mercy. Praise God that He moves on from our past because of Who He is!
