#3067 – Prepare the Way

Good morning people whose lives are clear sign posts to Almighty God

In my Bible, there are titles or subject lines before passages of scripture. As I opened the Gospel of Mark, the opening title is, ‘John the Baptist Prepares the Way’.

As I read this, I felt Father say, “Every believer is called to prepare the way for people to encounter Me”.

We are privileged beyond words to have received revelation of the truth of Who God is and to walk with Him moment by moment.

From this blessed place, we are called, required and empowered to set others up to encounter God for themselves. We are not responsible to ‘bring revelation’, as this is impossible for us. Revelation is the work of the Holy Spirit. But our lives should be sign posts that point people to Christ, and that through Him, point them to the Father.

You might immediately disqualify yourself because you are not perfect. Last time I checked, none of us were. And even greater than that, that’s not the requirement nor what Father is looking for!

Paul said that, although he hasn’t arrived at the place he wants to be, he is pressing on to take hold of everything that Jesus did for him (Philippians 3:12-14). From this place of natural imperfection, he boldly told people to follow him as he follows Christ (1 Corinthians 11:1).

We are called to do the same. Let’s be people who intentionally and daily ‘prepare the way’ for people to encounter God.
