#3006 – No Substitute

Good morning people who keep God number One in their lives always

Prophetic people know there is no substitute to knowing and loving God Himself and His Word.

Permit me to say that again – ‘no substitute’.

The word ‘substitute’ means ‘to replace’. Now, we might quickly say that we would never substitute knowing and loving God and His Word with anything, ever. I would say the same. But sometimes, other things – even good things – can ‘substitute’ God and His Word.

One of the things I feel Father is highlighting right now is ‘spiritual gifts’, including prophecy. As we desire to be prophetic people and to stir up the gifts of God, I feel Father is saying to me to remind us all, “even spiritual gifts that bless others are not to become substitutes to knowing and loving God Himself and His Word’.

Another potential substitute that can easily take over without us even noticing it is ‘time’. By this I mean we can give our time to serve God, to serve at church, to serve others (and this is fantastic), but it must never become a substitute to knowing and loving God Himself and His Word. Doing good is not a substitute to knowing God.

Prophetic people keep God and His Word as their priority.

“Do you?”
