#3002 – Turn On the Light

Good morning people who dispel the darkness with the light of Who God is

Prophetic people turn on the light rather than focus on the darkness.

My Dad has always said, “The best way to get darkness out of a room is to turn on the light”. He is correct.

You don’t see people walk into a darkened room and bemoan the darkness. They turn on the light. You don’t see people try to chase the darkness out of a room. They turn on the light. You don’t see people sit in the darkness trying to read a book. They turn on the light.

Turning on the light is more powerful than trying to dispel darkness. Oh, that’s powerful! I need to say it again. Turning on the light is more powerful than trying to dispel darkness.

In our families, our marriages, our organizations, our churches, our challenges, so often we fixate on and try to fix the difficulties and the darkness. Maybe it’s time to turn on the light.

Now I’m not saying that sometimes things won’t need our attention, they will.

“But what are we focused on? What are we speaking into these situations: God’s Word that brings light and hope, or simply acknowledging the reality of the problem we see?”

Prophetic people turn on the light rather than focus on the darkness.
