#288 – Tall Poppy Syndrome

Good morning those who honour and encourage

I feel led by the Spirit of God this morning to challenge those who are in the habit of criticising those who are doing well and excelling. God’s word to you is you need to honour and encourage those who are doing well and not criticise and judge them.

Psalm 105:15 Do not touch my anointed ones; do my prophets no harm.

It’s time to acknowledge the truth of this passage this morning. We are not in competition with other Believers; we are called to work in unity and to build each other up. There is way too much attack and negative criticism that is totally ungodly. The devil loves it but God hates it. Many times the world doesn’t need to criticise the Church because the Church is doing it to each other.

We need all sorts in the Body of Christ and each part is important. Some are smaller and therefore are less noticeable yet they are vital and necessary to the Body’s health. But so too are those larger more prominent Churches and ministries that are benefiting the Body of Christ. There seems to be a feeling of insecurity among some that leads to criticism. This is not right. You are called to be who you are called to be, but so are others. Remember the parable of the talents; some were given one talent, some two and some five. Be comfortable with the capacity you have been given and do not attack those with more. Encourage them, bless them, pray for them and their success because it’s all for the Kingdom of God.

Today if you have been critical of someone or a ministry that is excelling, I encourage you to stop, repent and pray a blessing on them and all they do.
