#281 – Don’t Miss It

Good morning those who delight in God’s Word

There is so much in the Word of God for our lives but too many times we simply read a story and move on. We need to ask ourselves, “What is God saying to me from this story?” We need to dig a little deeper. We need to pray for revelation and wisdom to understand. We must perceive through spiritual eyes what is written. There are nuggets of truth throughout the Word that are waiting to be discovered but it requires more than just reading.

1 Corinthians 9:9-10 For it is written in the Law of Moses; “Do not muzzle an ox while it is treading out the grain.” Is it about oxen that God is concerned? Surely He says this for us, doesn’t He? Yes, this was written for us, because when the ploughman ploughs and the thresher threshes, they ought to do so in the hope of sharing in the harvest.

Don’t focus on the ox, the ploughman or the thresher alone in this story, listen to the lesson here; listen to what God is saying to us. The lesson is there are lessons in the Word for us now, today, personally. It’s time to approach the meat of the Word and to seek to understand more. It’s time to meditate on the Word. It’s time to memorise the Word. It’s time to go digging for the gold of the Word. It’s time to read the Word as a word from God to us now and not just a collection of stories. God wants to speak to you today and He will do it through His Word.
