Good morning God-honouring people
I’ve just heard the line in a song that says ‘in a world degenerating’. This is an accurate description of our time. You only have to turn on the news, pick up a newspaper, hear about many of the programs on TV or listen to the conversations at work to see this reality. For many this causes despair.
Here’s the simple thought that came to me as I contemplated this. Whenever darkness gets darker (think of a moonless night), lights appear brighter. As we know Jesus is the Light of the world but Jesus went back to the Father. His plan was, and still is today, for you and I to be lights that shine in the darkness.
Matthew 5:14-16 You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.
Today I ask every one of us to be lights that shine bright and point the way to Jesus and in so doing bring glory to the Father. I ask every one of us to be intentional about this today. When asked how you are, be positive and from the start of your conversation let your light shine. It may take denying self but we can all do it
