#2176 – All Leaders

Good morning people who submit to authority as God has instructed us to

Nehemiah 3:5 (NIV) The next section was repaired by the men of Tekoa, but their nobles would not put their shoulders to the work under their supervisors.

“Are you selective which leaders you submit to?”

Unless you are directly commanded to violate what the Bible clearly says, you must submit to all leadership. Now let me clarify: all means all, there are no exceptions.

“But Steve, how about if they aren’t doing what God says in His Word and they are bad people?”

All means all.

1 Peter 2:18-19 (NIV) Slaves, in reverent fear of God submit yourselves to your masters, not only to those who are good and considerate, but also to those who are harsh. For it is commendable if someone bears up under the pain of unjust suffering because they are conscious of God.

This passage is so clear. We are to submit to those who are good and considerate…and to those who are harsh.

Too many Christians are selective with their obedience. Respectfully, it’s not about what you think or how you feel, but about what the Word of God says. You don’t establish truth – the Word of God does.

So permit me to ask you again:

“Are you selective which leaders you submit to?”
