#2164 – Adjust & Release

Good morning people who see God’s fingerprints in times of transition

Here’s the first lesson we learn from Jesus about transition:

God gives us the time we need to adjust and release the past.

2 Corinthians 1:3-4 (NIV)Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.

When Jesus told His disciples that He would be leaving them, their hearts were troubled. (John 14:1) After the emotional lows and highs of Jesus’crucifixion and resurrection, He gave His followers forty more days of personal fellowship with Him. This time enabled them to adjust—to release their expectations of the past and to embrace God’s agenda.

Acts 1:3 (NIV)After His suffering, (Jesus) presented Himself to them and gave many convincing proofs that He was alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God.

Our Father, in His wisdom, appoints transition as a time for us to process what is taking place. He gives us the time we need to grieve, whilst pointing to what is to come.

Today, no matter what you are going through, God invites you to know Him as your Comforter, Father and Friend.
