Good morning people who are privileged to lead those whom God loves
Colossians 1:9-12 (NIV) For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to His glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and giving joyful thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of His holy people in the kingdom of light.
WOW!!! What an incredibly rich and full passage of scripture! What incredible promises and invitation to God’s holy people! What incredible empowering truth!
Let’s start to meditate on this and see what God says.
Firstly it is a great invitation for leaders to pray regularly for those they lead.
This was written by Paul and Timothy to the church in Colosse; a group of people who had ‘faith in Christ Jesus and love for all God’s people’ (Colossians 1:4).
Paul and Timothy pray for MORE; more revelation of God’s will for their lives, more wisdom and understanding through the Holy Spirit, more power to live holy and pleasing lives to the Lord, more fruitfulness, more revelation of Who God is, more endurance and patience, more joyful thanks to God, and more revelation of their inheritance in God…
…this sounds like an awesome prayer to me!!!
“As leaders, do we pray for MORE for those we have the privilege of leading?”
