#2128 – Gentle & Kind

Good morning people who see Father God as He is

I recently saw a father help his young son who had hurt himself on his bike. The father was gentle and kind. I thought of God as our Father; this is how He is with us when we get hurt.

I also recently saw a father engaging beautifully and wholeheartedly with his two young children. This father was a model example of a fully engaged father who overflowed with love and attention for his children. Again I thought of our Father God; He desires to be so involved in every part of our lives.

Any concept we have of Father God that isn’t based on His gentleness, kindness, love and attention is incorrect.

“But Steve, I keep on falling down and disappointing God. I am a failure.”

Firstly, you are not a failure – that is a lie from the enemy! Yes, we can have moments of failure (doing the wrong thing), but it is impossible for a person to be a failure. In God, through Christ Jesus, we are righteous, holy and blameless! You are a loved child of the Most High God!

Secondly, if you do something wrong, God still responds to you in kindness. Sure, you might not feel like this, but again, that is the lie of the enemy who desires to steal, kill and destroy. Here is the truth to meditate on today:

Romans 2:4 (NIV) Or do you show contempt for the riches of His kindness, forbearance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance?

Romans 8:1 (NIV) Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

God is a Father and He loves you more than words can say.
