#202 – But Even If

Good morning faith-filled people

Daniel 3:17-18 If we are thrown into the blazing furnace, the God we serve is able to save us from it, and he will rescue us from your hand, O king. But even if he does not, we want you to know, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you have set up.

3. BUT even if He does not, we will not bow down.

Is God able to move on our behalf? Yes.

Does God want to do good things in our lives? Absolutely!

Does it always go the way we want? No it doesn’t.

This is a very important part of this passage that many Christians have not grasped and the result has been disillusionment and hurt. The three Hebrews trusted God that He could and He would save them but their trust in God was so deep that even if He chose not to, they would still worship Him.

“Oh God speak to our hearts. Help us to see and hear your voice right now.”

Many times our trust of God is conditional on the outcome of our prayers. But we do not know best. God does. We do not see the whole picture. God does. Oh how much more free a lot of people would be if we could live by this principle.

Some of you today need to confess your lack of trust in God due to what you have termed ‘unanswered prayers’. The truth is God’s answer may just have been different to what you expected. He is waiting for you today; He loves you and He wants to start again. He wants to help you walk forward in your faith and trust in Him. He asks that you trust Him even if He does not do what we expect and pray for.
