#190 – Consistency

Good morning daily people

Do you eat every day? Do you drink every day? Do you sleep every day? I’m sure as a general rule we all do. Why do we do this? I mean why don’t we only eat occasionally, drink occasionally and sleep occasionally? We all know the answer to that is because we would not function properly without these essentials regularly. We all enjoy these essentials and we all need them. Even if we are very busy we ensure we have these. Sure sometimes it is a little less than at other times, but we wouldn’t normally go several days without eating, drinking or sleeping.

I believe the same is true about meditating on the Word of God, talking and listening to God in prayer and living a life of love to God and others. These are the three essentials that we cannot function properly without. Yet it’s amazing how often many Christians go days without these.

The spiritual realm is more important than the natural and we need to ensure we stay consistent in our essential spiritual disciplines this year. I am not talking legalism, God forbid, but I do want to make the simple point that it is our choice and we must prioritise DAILY spiritual essentials. You will be spiritually healthier, stronger and more fruitful if you do.

Psalm 1:2 (The Message) Instead you thrill to GOD’s Word, you chew on Scripture day and night.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray continually

Mark 12:30-31 (The Message) So love the Lord God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence and energy.’ And here is the second: ’Love others as well as you love yourself.’ There is no other commandment that ranks with these.”
