#184 – Fresh Faith

Good morning faith-filled people

This morning I want to stir our faith to believe. For some of you it has been awhile since you have believed a breakthrough is possible in a certain area. For some of you, you have prayed and prayed until you don’t know if you can hold on to believing. Giving up seems the easiest thing to do because at least you will not be disappointed again.

Firstly I want to say that God sees and feels your pain and disappointment. Sometimes we are told off for acknowledging real feelings, including emotions due to weariness. We need to be real with our feelings and I am not being flippant with them this morning. But I believe that we can have faith and feelings at the same time.

The Bible talks a lot about hope and faith. Here’s a powerful scripture.

Proverbs 13:12 (God’s Word Version) Delayed hope makes one sick at heart, but a fulfilled longing is a tree of life.

For many people today, they simply need hope restored. I believe that hope opens the door to faith and the two together go hand in hand. How can we restore hope and faith when we have only experienced disappointment in a certain area?

Job 13:15 (The Message) Because even if he killed me, I’d keep on hoping. I’d defend my innocence to the very end.

Job lost many things but he refused to lose hope in God because of Who God is. While our focus is on the problems, hope and faith is difficult. When we lift up our eyes and look to Jesus, remembering all that the Bible has declared as truth for us, hope and faith can live again. Yes this takes huge effort but I believe it’s not only possible, but it’s also necessary today for many of you. Would you pray this prayer with me?

“Father, my situation seems hopeless and helpless. I don’t know what to do. I have prayed and believed but right now I am struggling. Would you please help me to believe again? I choose this day to fix my eyes on You, knowing that your Word is truth and You are able to make a way where there seems to be no way. With You all things are possible. But Lord, even if you choose not to answer my prayer as I want, I will still trust You and place my hope and faith in You. You are always good and I love You.”
