#155 – Acceptance

Good morning people who desire God’s will

The angel Gabriel came to the Mary and gave her the most amazing and impossible prophetic word (see Luke 1:26-38). God has, or will, speak seemingly impossible things into your hearts also. What was Mary’s response to this unbelievable word from God through Gabriel? What has been, or will be, your response when God calls you to walk a certain path?

Luke 1:38 “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered, “May it be to me as you have said.” Then the angel left her.

Let’s be real for a moment and examine what took place. An angel came to a teenager and said I have a message from God for you. Right there, a lot of us would be in the ‘troubled’ stage and so was Mary (see verse 29). Then the angel told her not to be afraid (“yeah right!”) and proceeded to tell her that she, as a virgin, would have a son, through the Holy Spirit, and oh, by the way, your son will be the Son of the Most High. Hands up if God has asked this much of you? I didn’t think so.

Yet this teenager received the word of God by faith and said “Ok”. How could she do this?!? Because she had given herself to being the Lord’s servant. Her attitude was “Whatever you say Lord, I will do.”

You will have, or currently do have, some things that God is asking you to do. Maybe you aren’t completely sure because it sounds too strange but you know your heart is stirring. Will you respond like Mary and accept the word of the Lord? God always knows what He is doing and He is well able to make the impossible possible. You do your part and God will do His.
