Good morning disciplined followers of Christ

Salvation is instant but transformation takes a lifetime. Character develops over time. The problem many times is we are impatient; we want it now! It reminds me of the old quote “Lord, give me patience and give it to me NOW!” It simply doesn’t work like that. The book of James tells us that character is developed on the far side of perseverance. One of the first steps to seeing lasting change is accept it is a process.

Now I am not saying that to keep on sinning during the process of change is ok. I am saying that acceptance of a process is essential because otherwise we will constantly walk in condemnation; trust me from experience here!

Today I want us to simply ask ourselves this one question. Have I accepted that transformation is a process? Have a look at what The Message paraphrase says in Philippians.

Philippians 1:6 There has never been the slightest doubt in my mind that the God who started this great work in you would keep at it and bring it to a flourishing finish on the very day Christ Jesus appears.

This shows us that God is the One doing the work and this is what we are going to look at over the next couple of days.
