#132 – Trusting God

Good morning dependent people

It is easy to trust God when all is going well and when we understand what is happening in our lives. But what about when it is difficult; do we trust God then? What about when it is painful and there are contradictions; can God be trusted then? How about when something happens that is contrary to our understanding of how God does things; should we trust God in these circumstances?

Job was a man who lost all that was dear to him; family and possessions. He was serving God and many things went terribly wrong. Joseph was another person who received the promises of God and then was met with betrayal and accusations. Abraham saw the fulfilment of the word of God in his son Isaac only to have God ask for him back; surely God wouldn’t do that!

Here’s Job’s response after al the loss he experienced.

Job 1:20-22 At this, Job got up and tore his robe and shaved his head. Then he fell to the ground in worship and said: “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked I will depart. The Lord gave and the Lord has taken away; may the Name of the Lord be praised.” In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.

Do we trust God no matter what? When we don’t understand, do we trust God? When we don’t like something, do we trust God? Our God cares and He always knows what He is doing. When we submit to Him, our lives are never out of His control. God gives and God takes; blessed be the Name of the Lord.
